We have not yet found the Lutsk City Council regulation on memorial plaques, so we retell a report by the newspaper Volyn of 12 September 2026 (citing misto.media) about four plaques to fallen servicemen.
- A plaque can be initiated by the mayor, the city council, executive authorities, public organisations and citizens.
- A petition goes to the mayor, with a rationale, a proposed place and the source of funding.
- A working group on memorial plaques reviews it and the executive committee decides. According to the report, the project is developed by the city planning, land and advertising department.
- Places and inscriptions are agreed with the families beforehand.
- In the case the newspaper described, all four plaques were made to one sample and paid from the local budget.
Practical conclusion: state who pays in the petition right away; the report does not list a sketch as a requirement, but it helps approval. We are a workshop in Lutsk, so we prepare sketches and quotes for local plaques free of charge.
